Overview

What fiberglass lamination for shower pans actually involves

Atinez does not install prefabricated shower bases. We build and laminate the wood substrate on site, then lay the fiberglass over it as a single continuous, fully waterproof piece — no mortar bed, no folded sheet liner, no clamping drain. The wood is sealed and laminated in place, sloped to the drain, carried up the curb and walls, and bonded to the drain body with no fold, no seam, and no liner to puncture. Because the pan is formed to your opening rather than ordered from a catalog, curbless, oversized, custom-shaped, and bench-integrated pans are all straightforward for us.

This is a good fit for homeowners, condo boards, and property managers who want the leak stopped properly rather than postponed. We handle the assessment, the substrate work, the lamination, and the cleanup, and we walk the finished surface with you before we call the job done.

What's Included

Every project covers the essentials

  • Wood substrate laminated on site — we do not install prefabricated bases
  • One-piece fiberglass pan with no seams, folds, or sheet liner
  • Any footprint — curbless, oversized, L-shaped, or bench-integrated
  • Correct pitch to the drain built into the laminate itself
  • Waterproofing carried up curbs and walls to full tile height
  • Bonded drain tie-in with no clamping ring to loosen
  • Ready for tile, stone, or a finished gel coat surface
Our Process

Four steps from first call to final walkthrough

01

Template & Demo

We remove the failed pan, inspect the subfloor and framing for rot, and template the exact opening we will laminate into.

02

Wood Substrate

We build and fit the wood substrate on site, sealing and sloping it to the drain before any fiberglass is applied. No prefabricated base is brought in.

03

In-Place Lamination

Mat and resin are laminated directly over the wood, carried up curbs and walls, and bonded to the drain body as one continuous waterproof piece.

04

Flood Test & Finish

We flood test the finished pan, then leave it ready for your tile setter — or finish it in gel coat if you want the pan exposed.

Why It Matters

The difference a careful job makes

Small choices in prep, materials, and finish work add up to a result that looks better and lasts longer.

No Seams to Fail

A laminate cured in place is one continuous membrane. Nothing is joined, so there is no joint for water to find.

Structural, Not Cosmetic

Fiberglass has real tensile strength. It bridges minor substrate movement instead of telegraphing every crack.

UV & Salt Resistant

Top coats specified for Gulf Coast exposure hold their colour and gloss where ordinary coatings chalk out.

Re-Coat, Don't Rebuild

When the finish eventually dulls, the wear layer is renewed. The system underneath stays exactly where it is.

Our Standard

Detail-driven from start to finish

Premium results come from disciplined habits — not shortcuts. Here's the standard we hold ourselves to on every project.

Substrate Verified First

We sound the deck and check moisture before quoting. A laminate over a failing substrate is money wasted.

Ground Back to Sound

Old coatings come off, fasteners are set below the surface, and slope is corrected before any resin is mixed.

Rolled Void-Free

Every pass is rolled out so no air is trapped in the laminate. Voids are where delamination starts.

Terminations Sealed

Walls, posts, thresholds, drains and scuppers are carried into the membrane, not flashed over afterwards.

Written Scope Up Front

You get the scope, the schedule, and a realistic cure window before we start — not after.
